This was a great two day workshop. Facilitators, Karyn Noble and Stacy Delany did a wonderful job!! Both modules were very interesting and informative. It was interesting and we both learned a great deal. We would recommend it to any member who is interested in getting involved with CUPE in an Executive role. One of the great things about these schools is meeting with members from other locals and learning from them. It was a great two days.

We met at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel as it was a big group of people from many locals. The two day CUPE School consisted of information in regards to Stress: how to recognize stress, types of stress, constuctive ways to deal with stress, and recognizing stressors. A lot of emphasis was put on finding constructive ways to communicate better with fellow peers and with administration.
Other insights from fellow CUPE members were that more people should attend the sessions in the future as it was very helpful. We would definatley encourage CUPE members to attend this or any other workshop available. Thank you CUPE!!

This busy five day Convention was held October 31st - November 4th, 2011 at the new Vancouver Convention Center. This building is also a labour heritage center with interesting panels throughout the building highlighting labour history in British Columbia.
In attendance on behalf of Local 3260 were Marlene Hunt, Shawna Quinn for the first time and Karyn Noble for the second time. Stacy Delaney attended as Staff. Lori MacKay also attended as CUPE PEI President.

The two day Seminar consisted of information in regards to Stress and how to recognize stress, types of stress, & constructive ways to deal with stress. A lot of emphasis was put on finding contructive ways to communicate better with co wokers and administrators. This was a relaxing two days and I got to meet many CUPE members from other locals. I would encourage members to attend this and other CUPE Schools.

This 3 hour course was held in trhe afternoon of October 5th, 2011. This module covered the roles in supporting equity-seeking groups. I found it all very interesting. I left the course feeling more empowered. The anti discrimation Glossary will be useful in the workplace.
